Media has imploded and exploded at the same time.

In the past decades publishing costs have gone to zero - famously leading to the explosion of the Creator Economy.

At the same time, mainstream media is imploding as Americans lose trust in traditional institutions. This has led to an exodus of top personalities from houses like CNN and The New York Times to go direct.

These two forces are now coming together in what we call the Fragmented Media Era.

The problem: the vast majority of these media businesses can’t survive without advertising.

In our latest blog I wrote about how the above has unfolded, why advertising is essential to big and small media survival, and why we need to re-build advertising to support the creators and media companies of the Fragmented Media Era.
